My Current Skincare Rotation

Many of you guys have been asking me about my skincare routine, so I thought I’d share the products I use day to day. Before I knew any better, I grew up only washing my face with bar soap and water. With time, trial and error, I finally made it to the promised land and started practicing a real skincare routine over the last few years.

My routine is pretty simple: it consists of exfoliating, a face-wash, a toner, a moisturizer and the occasional mask. My current products are listed below, along with why I use them, the prices and what I generally think about them.

Exfoliating

Cup O’ Coffee | LUSH - $11.95

Facemask

Mask of Magnaminty | LUSH - $14.95

Both of those products are two of my favorite skincare essentials ever. They’re handmade, natural and they WORK. I’m currently out of both right now, which is horrible timing, but I usually never go without. Each one of these can both be used as facemasks and exfoliating products all-in-one, but I use Cup O’ Coffee every few days when I exfoliate and Mask of Magnaminty once a week as my true mask. My skin is always nice and smooth once I scrub either one of them off—this helps every product I use next work just that much better.

The ingredient listings are pretty cool to see as well.

Organic Agave Syrup (Agave Tequilana) Kaolin Glycerine Coffee Infusion (Coffea arabica) Talc Ground Coffee (Coffea Arabica) Bentone (Hectorite) Fragrance Vetivert Oil (Vetiveria Zizanoides) Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia) Roasted Cocoa Extract (Theobroma Cacao) Coriander Seed Oil (Coriandrum sativum) Caffeine Powder *Coumarin *Limonene *Linalool

Bentone Gel (Hectorite) Kaolin Honey Talc Ground Aduki Beans (Phaseolus Angularis) Glycerine Evening Primrose Seeds (Oenothera biennis) Peppermint Oil (Mentha Piperita) Tagetes Oil (Tagetes Minuta) Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia) *Limonene Fragrance Methylparaben Chlorophyllin

If you’re a fan of natural products and are looking for something new to really get your skin shining, I highly recommend these.

Cleanser

Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Daily Cleanser - $6

This is a pretty basic, but effective cleanser. It’s 90% naturally derived, which I appreciate, especially with having really sensitive skin. I wash my face with this every morning and night, then I head on over to the toner.

Toner

Burt’s Bees Rosewater Toner - $10

In my opinion, Burt’s Bees doesn’t really miss on much, but I’ve had mixed results with this. I also recently realized that this has alcohol in it, so I’ll be switching back to my alcohol-free Thayers Witch Hazel soon. If the alcohol doesn’t bother you, the Burt’s Bees is a decent product to try.

Moisturizer

MALIN+GOETZ Vitamin E Moisturizer - $50

This is something I’ll probably always keep in my cabinet. It’s lightweight, super moisturizing and really soaks into my skin quickly. Highly recommended.

Sidenote: It’s also worth checking out their Recovery Treatment Oil. I had a sample that lasted a few weeks and I couldn’t get enough of that either.

As you can see, it’s still a game of trial and error, but I’m really learning what my skin likes and how it reacts to different things. Don’t be afraid to venture out either! Also remember that everyone’s skin is different too, so see how your skin feels with different products before you go full force. What works for me or you may not work for someone else. Have fun, build yourself a great routine and let me know what you use in the comment section below!
