A Few Days in Portland, Maine
I turned 35 a few days ago and I kicked off the new year of life in Portland, Maine - a dream location of mine I’ve been wanting to hit for years. It’s everything I imagined: peace, quiet, great food, beautiful water, top tier vintage shopping. I won’t drag this post out too long, but I do wanna show you some of the major gems I hit while there. Check them out below.
shopping
Moody Lords - Vintage clothing and vinyl record store with excellent curation, solid prices, and a truly gorgeous store.
Material Objects - Another outstanding vintage store with some of the best selections I’ve seen in a shop like this. Great prices, unique finds, great deals on everything especially outerwear.
Lazy Sun - Menswear store selling some of my favorites like 3sixteen, Wythe, PF Flyers, etc
Restaurants & drinks
Duckfat - Get the poutine, a sandwich, and maybe a milkshake. everything’s cooked in duck fat and I love them for that.
Hot Suppa - One of the heaviest (in a good way) and fulfilling means I’ve had in a long time. Amazing brunch with a sick drink menu.
The Honey Paw - Asian cuisine in a beautiful restaurant, get the soup/noodle bowl with the roasted lamb.
Hot Suppa - One of the heaviest (in a good way) and fulfilling means I’ve had in a long time. Amazing brunch with a sick drink menu.
Bard Coffee - I’m typically a black coffee guy, and they have nice beans here for that, BUT get the maple latte if you’re feeling fun. It was NICE.
MISC
Green Hand Bookshop - Lovely store with really cool staff, wide selection of new and used books (even some wild deep cut, rare books).
OMG Organically Main Grown Cannabis - If you partake, this is a solid spot. Friendly staff, great prices, decent selection in a mom & pop shop.
Portland Museum of Art - I’m always a sucker for a good museum and this is 100% one. Five floors (if I remember correctly), MASSIVE exhibits, and a wide array of subjects/topics in their art. Really good one.
